Dear Axe Central. I have been doing my research on PRS serial numbers pre factory etc but i am at a bit of a loss. I do collect guitars mostly acoustic, Taylor etc however i live in Qatar in the Middle east, and last saturday the local Rugby Club here raffles off guitars (please this is not a joke), i bought one raffle ticket which cost me around 8 dollars and won the guitar. Its a red maple (i think) and from what ive read its from 1992 pre factory.

Now this guitar is nice, but its really not my thing. Just wondered if theres any experts on PRS that may be able to shed a bit of history on this guitar. There was no case with the guitar but i have a few photos, thanks Rich. Hi thank you very much for your reply. Ive just taken some better photos attached, theres no bolt on neck, glued or through maybe, there are a couple of things that dont quite ring true. The PRS signature at the top some of it looks missing 2. After a lengthy 2 hrs of research!
I have determined that the date may well be 1992 however approximate dates on some websites state that 15001 to 17001 is 1993 however the serial number is clearly marked 2 15799 3. Grover tuners are these normal? Not sure on model name but it maybe comparing to others a Custom 22? Very sorry for the vagueness not an expert on electrics by any stretch of the imagination The guitar is near mint condition, but came without a case.
NGD PRS SE Santana -when was it made? Discussion in '. Serial number quoted doesn't make sense the SEs are usually 1 letter and then numbers. The letter indicates the year A=2000 B=2001 etc balston11, Jan 28, 2017. A 2016 guitar's serial begins with IC' So it's a 2015.
Thanks for your time, i look forward to your reply, regards Rich. Hi, i emailed PRS and this is the reply, are you still able to help RE valuation of said guitar? Thaanks in advance, regards Rich Hi Rich, Thank you for writing PRS Guitars. Unfortunately our database is somewhat limited in the information it provides for older models and I only have a few specs for your guitar. It does appear to be a Custom 22 with a maple “10” top in a Black Cherry finish with Dragon pickups. It was more than likely made in late ’92 so it could make the lineup and ship in ’93.

Ish Guitars Exclusive Dealer Limited Run of Custom 24 Multi Scale 6 Strings! My name is Jesse Wilson, owner of Ish Guitars. I hand picked every wood and option on this guitar in May of 2017 in the Private Stock Wood Vault at the PRS Factory (photos of the raw woods will be included with the purchase of the guitar). A Multi-Scale PRS?! Yes, PRS went multi-scale (commonly known as fanned fret), and I was the one crazy enough to commission the very expensive $7000+ 8-month long research-and-development processes for the 6 guitars in our first run (more to come!). This means that you get an amazing 1-off multi-scale PRS without having to pay the huge amount of money to develop the guitar. Ish Guitars has a 'Dealer Exclusive' to 6 String Multi-Scale PRS guitars, so you can also custom order your own Multi-Scale PRS through us!

The frets are not fanned much on purpose. A PRS is a 'best of both worlds' guitar, combining a Les Paul and a Strat. So, I picked a 25.5' scale (like a Strat) on the bass side for nice chimey Strat-like chording, and 24.75' (usual LP-style Scale length) on the treble side to have that awesome Les Paul lead guitar feel up top. 99% of the world isn't tuning to some crazy low C drop tuning, so most of us don't need a huge 27' scale on the bottom.
Another benefit of the small fan is that those who have played this guitar and the prototype guitar all said they did not need to 'get used to' the change in the frets - which is exactly what the goal was - better intonation, tone, and balance, but without having to re-learn how to play guitar. Many who have played this guitar have called it 'the perfect PRS' because of the reasons above!
The Guitar: This specific guitar is the first of our run, and I wanted to start it off with a BANG - Private Stock Director Paul Miles and I worked together to develop what we call this 'Spalt Toned' finish. The key to this finish is a steady hand, many hours, and the perfect piece of Spalted Maple. Thankfully, we were able to find not only one but two matched pieces of the perfect Spalted maple - so of course we had to build a guitar with a matched top and back. Look closely and you will also notice even the electronics cover and truss rod cover match and flow with the Spalt Toned finish!
Paul's Private Stock team knocked it out of the park on this one. The guitar uses (lets be honest) the world's best tone wood, Mahogany, for the core and neck of the guitar. We covered this with a simple satin black paint job to make some contrast with the crazy spalt and make for a truly bad-ass looking guitar.
